Bindts Road, between Harvest Home Road and Lehmanns Road, is currently closed to safely support the construction of nearby residential estates. Council recommends the permanent closure of the gravel road as it does not provide direct access to any residential properties and will allow motorists to travel on established roads intended for more vehicles.
Bindts Road is constructed to a rural standard, with gravel surface between Bridge Inn Road and Lehmanns Road, and light sealed sections between Lehmanns Road and Harvest Home Road. It provides local farm access.
Council’s Quarry Hills Precinct Structure Plan sets a clear vision for how the road network will be developed to accommodate population growth now and into the future, including a recommendation to discontinue Bindts Road, between Harvest Home Road and Lehmanns Road once access has been altered by localised urban development.
There have been a number of crashes along Bindts Road since 2014. The closure of Bindts Road, between Harvest Home Road and Lehmanns Road, is proposed to help reduce the risk of future accidents by ensuring motorists travel on established roads intended for more vehicles.
