What is a Place Framework?

The City of Whittlesea is developing a Place Framework for Bundoora as part of the Community Action Plan 2025-2029.

A Place Framework is a plan that helps guide how our unique local areas grow and change over time. It helps Council decide what projects to focus on and supports advocacy with other authorities and stakeholders. We have already developed Place Frameworks for Thomastown and Lalor and Mill Park. You can read more about Place Frameworks here.

Bundoora is a thriving suburb with excellent access to universities, employment precincts, tram lines, a range of housing options, and a vibrant, diverse community. We want to make sure Bundoora continues to be a great place to work, live and visit.

To shape this framework, we work closely with a community reference group and stakeholders. Through their lived experiences, they identify opportunities and challenges and provide input into actions and initiatives. The actions developed through these workshops will then be shared with the broader community to help prioritise the actions.
