Project Updates
The City of Whittlesea is seeking to upgrade the off-leash dog park at Delacombe Park to provide an improved experience for owners and their pets.
Last year we invited you to provide feedback on two concept plans, as well as tell us what features you consider most important at a dog park.
Council appreciates the feedback received during the public consultation period from users of the park and residents living in the surrounding area.
This feedback demonstrated there was support for both options.
After careful consideration, Council has finalised the design incorporating key elements of both option one and two.
When complete, the upgraded park will feature:
- Upgraded off-leash dog area with new fence
- 2000 square-metre quiet dog zone
- Upgraded entrances including a new entrance from Wilton Court
- Improved turf surface and gravel paths
- Trees for natural shade
- Bins located at each entrance
- Two drinking fountains with dog bowls
- Additional park furniture
- Additional garden beds and planting
Work on the park’s redevelopment commenced on August 7 2023 and is expected to finish by the end of October 2023.
