The Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 (the Act) recognises the key role of councils in improving the health and wellbeing of people in their municipality. Section 26 of the Act requires each council to prepare a municipal public health and wellbeing plan every 4 years, within 12 months of a council general election.

Council is developing its Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan and Disability Action Plan. The priorities we’ve identified (below) are linked to the Victorian Government’s Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2023-27.

To help inform these plans, Council sought input from the Community on the priorities they consider are most important to support good health and wellbeing through community consultation at in-person pop ups and online survey.
