Understanding your power supply

The City of Whittlesea is considering a partnership with RMIT University to undertake a feasibility study into micro-grids for the Humevale and Kinglake West areas.

For the feasibility study to proceed, we need to understand the stability of your current electricity grid.

Please fill out and submit the short survey below. Survey closes 3rd June 2022.

About micro-grids

A micro-grid is a miniature model of a complete electrical grid system. It includes electricity generation (in this case from solar PV systems), storage of electricity in batteries, distribution of electricity using the existing electricity grid, and consumption of the electricity within a clearly defined electrical boundary – like Humevale and Kinglake West.

Micro-grids are a way of improving the reliability of electricity in the event of natural disasters including bushfires, floods, or cyclones.
