As part of Stage 1 of the Mill Park Lakes Play Space renewal, we are focusing on upgrading the play space and fitness equipment to improve safety, accessibility and community enjoyment.

The renewed play space will meet current safety standards and better reflect the needs and preferences of children and families, in line with Council’s Playground Renewal Program.

Features of the upgrade will include:

• Play space upgrade
• New fitness and exercise station
• New picnic tables and refurbished shelter
• Installation of nature play items
• Tidying up existing garden beds and removing understory planting
• Additional seating
• Drinking fountain replacement, including a dog bowl.

No, the car park is outside the scope of the current playground upgrade works.

In addition to the play space works, Council is planning to upgrade the sports lighting for the west oval in the 2025-26 financial year.

There are no public toilets located directly at the play space. However, the nearest public toilet is available at the Mill Park Lakes Community Pavilion, approximately 250 metres away, which is about a three-minute walk from the play space.

At this stage, the focus of the project is on upgrading the play space and installing a fitness station. The boardwalk upgrade is currently being considered as part of the assessment process, but it is not included in the confirmed scope of Stage 1 works.

The design of the play space is planned to be completed in the summer of 2025. Construction is expected to start in autumn 2026.
