Nick Ascenzo Reserve is located on Waratah Street in Thomastown. The reserve is approximately 3.5 hectares and is generally characterised by open grassed area. It features:

• Playground
• Shaded areas
• Open grass areas
• Community Centre
• Toilets
• Car parking
• Half-court basketball court
• Bocce court

We are refining the plans for Nick Ascenzo Reserve that will incorporate key recommendations from previous consultation of the master plan to create a safe and inclusive space, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to access and enjoy the park.

The plans have been designed within the funding budget and aims to find a balance between the needs of our diverse community and the facilities required for various activities.

The plan aims to:

• Improve park facilities through additional picnic area with seating and shelter, bins and drinking fountain to meet the growing need of community for gathering spaces
• Improve the accessibility of the park by constructing wheelchair accessible pathways and facilities and introducing signage around the reserve.
• Increase canopy cover and biodiversity to make the reserve more appealing for residents and visitors
• Improve opportunities for social connection and interactions
• Improve enjoyment of the park through recreation activities

We are currently seeking feedback to learn more about what our community’s needs are and what you want to see in the reserve, as well as opportunities for improvement and addressing any existing issues. Your feedback will help shape the development of the final plan and the recommended improvements.
