Whittlesea City Council (Council) gives notice of its intention to enter into a lease with Optus for the proposed establishment of a ‘low impact’ telecommunication facility within the Reserve located at 52W Main Street, Thomastown (Premises).

The principal terms of the lease will be:

Rental fee

$30,000 per annum, excluding GST

Annual rental review

Adjusted annually by 3%

As part of its community engagement process Council first invited submissions on this proposal on 14 May 2024.

In accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy, the community is again invited to make a submission. All submissions must be in writing within 14 days of the date of publication of this notice and must be submitted no later than 5.00pm on 13 August 2025.

If submissions are received, they will be considered at a meeting of the Council. A person making a submission is entitled to request in their submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of the Council on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council.

  • Deliver your submission in person to the Council Offices at 25 Ferres Blvd, South Morang.

Following the consideration of any submissions, Council may resolve to enter into the proposed lease subject to the principle terms.
