Whittlesea City Council (Council) gives notice under section 115 of the Local Government Act 2020 (the Act) of its intention to extend the term of the current Lease agreement with Preston Reservoir Adult Community Education (PRACE) from 9 years to 20 years in respect of the premises located on part of the Mernda Recreation Reserve at 54-68 Schotters Road, Mernda (Premises).

The principal terms of the lease will be:

13 July 2021

Expiry Date

12 July 2026

*Lease will conclude 2041, if all further terms are exercised*

Permitted Use

Education and community facilities and associated uses including language, literacy and numeracy classes, vocational training and further education

Term

5 Years

Further Term

3 further term of 5 years

Rent

$250 per annum (plus GST)

Annual Rental Review

Adjusted annually by 3%

Outgoings

Responsibility of the Lessee.

In accordance with Council’s Community Engagement Policy, the community is invited to make a submission. All submissions must be in writing within 28 days of the date of publication of this notice and must be submitted no later than 5.00pm on Thursday, 18 May 2023.

If submissions are received, they will be considered at a meeting of the Council. A person making a submission is entitled to request in their submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of the Council on a date, time and place to be determined by the Council.
