Council has received a request from a resident to change the name of Prince Andrew Avenue, Lalor. Before any decision can be made, we are required to consult with affected residents and property owners to determine whether there is majority support for a name change. If a name change is supported, there will be further consultation before a new name is chosen.

It is important to note that any naming proposal must comply with the Naming Rules for Places in Victoria and is subject to final approval by Geographic Names Victoria, the authority responsible for road naming in Victoria.

Any costs associated with updating personal records (such as driver’s licences, insurance policies, and property documentation) will be the responsibility of individual residents and property owners.
