The City of Whittlesea is continuing its commitment to reconciliation through the development of a Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan 2023-2027.
Work is underway on developing Council's second Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) that will enable Aboriginal peoples’ right to self-determination. The RAP will reflect key actions informed by the Aboriginal communities' aspirations as part of Council's ongoing commitment and our reconciliation journey.
The Stretch RAP will build on the progress made towards reconciliation in recent years under Concil's previous RAP and will be underpinned by our RAP pillars:
Opportunities and Events
-
Register you National Reconciliation Week event.
National Reconciliation Week (NRW) – 27 May to 3 June
Share with us how your workplace is promoting reconciliation by registering your public and private events on our website.
Your NRW event is an opportunity for staff to further engage with the theme, Be A Voice for Generations, and adding your public event to the NRW events calendar makes it easier for supporters to find it and attend.
Any events marked ‘private’ will not be visible to the public.

Join the Reconciliation Film Club
Reconciliation Film Club is a proud partnership between Reconciliation Australia, NITV and SBS.
Hosting a screening in your organisation or community is an opportunity to bring people together to develop a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people’s perspectives and histories, ignite conversation and spark change.
It’s also a great platform to engage staff more actively in your organisation’s Reconciliation Action Plan.
