Riverside Community Activity Centre is situated in a lovely parkland setting with views stretching down in the Plenty Gorge conservation area. This Centre has a large hall and multiple meeting rooms providing residents with a facility that offers an extended range of services.

Proposed Name Change

Council is proposing to rename the following Council building at 8 Doreen Rogen Way, South Morang:

Current name: Riverside Community Activity Centre

To proposed name: Riverside Community Centre

The proposed new name more accurately reflects the community’s use of this facility and complies with Council’s Naming Policy for Features. It reflects that the feature is:

• a Council owned facility;
• available for use by the community; and
• multi-use /multi-purpose facility containing a community hall, and other meeting rooms for hire and a kindergarten.

The proposed renaming is being undertaken in conjunction with Council’s Signage Policy and the ongoing installation of standardised signage for Council buildings and facilities.
