About the Youth Council

The City of Whittlesea's Youth Council will be a dynamic and influential group of young individuals aged between 12 and 22. Whether you live, work, or study within our municipality, if you're passionate about making a difference, we invite you to join us.

Each term on the Youth Council spans two years, allowing you the flexibility needed to balance your work, study or personal commitments.

Your Responsibilities as a Youth Councillor

As a member of the Youth Council, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide valuable advice to the Council on matters that affect young people.

  • Create opportunities for youth engagement with the Council and ensure your voices are heard.

  • Advocate for the interests, challenges, and opportunities faced by young people in our municipality.

  • Offer vital input and feedback on matters referred from the Council before formal decisions are made.
