Council is required to develop a Domestic Animal Management Plan (DAMP), every four years. The DAMP outlines Council's services, programs and policies established to address the administration of the Domestic Animals Act 1994.
More than 1200 residents provided feedback about cats and dogs in our community in June this year during the first phase of community consultation. The insights captured have helped shape the draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2030.
The plan sets out the procedures for managing dogs and cats in the municipality and helps guide how Council invests its time and resources to keep our community safe.
The draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026-2030 is now available for public review and we encourage you to share your feedback.
