Project Updates

The City of Whittlesea’s Urban Design and Placemaking team have developed a Thomastown and Lalor Place Framework.

Originally known as the Urban Design Framework, the newly named Thomastown and Lalor Place Framework will guide and prioritise Council’s future initiatives for Thomastown and Lalor utilising an integrated place-based approach.

The framework builds upon the extensive work and community consultation previously undertaken and identifies projects based on this research. It plans for now and the future, whilst providing a framework for continued improvements that will build upon what makes Thomastown and Lalor a special place.

Thomastown and Lalor are two of our City’s most established and diverse suburbs, with a rich cultural heritage and sense of community. We want to ensure that these suburbs continue to meet the demands of its residents, businesses and visitors, and a Place Framework will help us do that.
